Bulgarian container terminal building expected to start before 2008

Construction of a EUR100 million (US$137 million) container terminal at Varna is expected to start by the end of the year, said the chairman of the municipal council Borislav Gutsanov.

According to The Sofia Echo, September 2007 would be the earliest date for financial negotiations to start on the project. The Varna terminal will be the first such facility in Bulgaria. Assessments of the effect the terminal would have on the environment will are being completed this month, Intellinews reported.
