Copenhagen Airport and SAS Cargo have been selected to co-host The International Air Cargo Association's (TIACA) executive conference and annual general meeting next year.
"Our selection committee was highly impressed by the commitment to cargo at Copenhagen Airport, its vision and real plans for the future. We believe TIACA's members and delegates will see considerable future business potential in the region," said TIACA chairman Jack Boisen.
The Danish airport is a major cargo hub in Northern Europe, handling annual freight volumes in excess of 380,000 tonnes. The airport processes some 259,000 operations a year carrying cargo of which 8,300 are freighter operations.
Said Copenhagen Airport cargo manager Lars Korup: "We are proud that TIACA has chosen Copenhagen to host its executive conference and AGM in 2008. This is now an extremely popular and high level event in the industry calendar and we look forward to welcoming the top executives from the air cargo industry to Copenhagen."
