Asia Pacific chief takes charge of DHL Express Europe
POSTED: 9:40 a.m. EDT, July 9,2007

Scott Price took over as CEO of DHL Express-Europe from the beginning of the month. He was the former DHL Express Asia Pacific head and will report in his new regional role to John Mullen, Global CEO of DHL Express.

Mr Price was said to have "delivered a solid track record in the region" as CEO of DHL Express-Asia Pacific, a position he maintained for three years. During this time, he played a "critical role" in strengthening DHL's market position, a company statement said.

"Scott has extensive and successful experience in steering the Asia Pacific business onto a strong growth trajectory, and I am confident that he will be an invaluable asset to the European team," said Mr Mullen.

During Mr Price's tenure in Asia Pacific, he was instrumental in driving key initiatives such as the expansion of the DHL Central Asia Hub in Hong Kong, six years ahead of schedule, as well as enhancing DHL's position in the Indian domestic express market through continued consolidation with joint venture partner Blue Dart.

He also launched DHL's First in China initiative, gaining a greater foothold in the region's largest market. Before that, he was the president of DHL Express Japan.
