Pearl River Delta import transshipment customs declaration simplified
POSTED: 9:07 a.m. EDT, July 7,2007
Shekou and Gaolan/Xintang Customs have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for handling inbound transshipment cargo to provide a more simplified method for liners and local consignees, especially for paper importers.

This is considered a breakthrough following an earlier one in Haikou region, and also marks the implementation of the same policy at Shekou and Gaolan/Xintang.

The dedicated Import Trans-Customs Declaration policy has now been extended to 28 ports in South China, including Zhongshan, Jiangmen, Shunde, Foshan, Nanhai, Zhuhai, Zhaoqin, Yunfu, Zhanjiang, Maoming, Fangcheng, Beihai, Huangpu (Xinsha development zone, Xingang old port), Taiping, Xinfeng, Wuzhou, Xinhui, Gaoming, Huadu, Kaiping, Yangjiang, Haikou, Gaolan and Xintang.
