Cathay Pacific plans to increase the frequency of its flights on India-Hong Kong route. Mr. Rupert Bray, Outgoing Country Manager, Cathay Pacific Airways Ltd said, ¡°Bilateral talks are awaited, both the Governments have to conduct bilateral talks and that will happen soon.¡±
The current number of flights on this route stands at 4 per week. The company also plans to focus on China in a big way. ¡°We will look at enhancing the link between China and India,¡± said Mr. Rupert.

The company looks at Beijing Olympics as an excellent opportunity to enhance the link. ¡°We will work with Dragon Air, a Hong Kong based international airline, and will jointly conduct some promotional schemes,¡± said Mr. Tom Wright, General Manager, India, Middle East, Africa and Pakistan, Cathay Pacific Airways Ltd.
The company will, however, keep Hong Kong in the forefront of people in the long term as it is seen as a destination for leisure and business. Currently, leisure travelers constitute one out of every 100 travelers to Hong Kong.
