POSTED: 8:52 a.m. EDT, July 26,2007

Maersk Logistics Indonesia has received the Best Retail Logistics Service Provider-Indonesia Award at the 2007 Frost & Sullivan Asean 4 Logistics Awards in Singapore.

Frost & Sullivan awarded the prize for "outstanding performance and third-party logistics best practice to the Indonesian retail industry, based on an independent and in-depth supply chain management (SCM) customer research".

"Receiving this award is a huge honour and a reflection of our commitment to Indonesia," said Jakob Sorensen, Maersk's Indonesia chief.

Maersk Logistics provides customised SCM, warehousing and distribution with offices in Jakarta, Surabaya, Semarang, Bandung, Medan and Batam.

Maersk Logistics offers ocean freight, airfreight, trucking, customs clearance and document management. Maersk Logistics also announced recently that it had acquired the Dutch forwarder Damco Sea & Air and now trades under the Damco name, having taken over its 26 offices in seven countries and staff of 400 full-time people.
