A 10,000-Ton 2,700-TEU containership has taken to the water from Germany's Emden Harbour owned by Nordseewerke GmbH, a ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems unit.
After launch, the ship was towed to the outfitting pier where a modular engine room would be outfitted and the deckhouse built, mounted and completed, reported the UK Shipping Times.
Outfitting will be completed by December when the vessel will be delivered to the customer, Gebab in Meerbusch, thereafter to be operated by the Maritime shipping company in Elsfleth under charter to Hamburg Sud.
This is the seventh containership of the yard's 2,700-TEU series. Another is to follow before a new 3,400-TEU class of ships will be built there.
