Hyundai Merchant Marine is part of a consortium that will operate a new container terminal in Rotterdam.

The consortium made of up APL, MOL, CMA CGM and DP World will operate a 156-hectare box terminal at the Maaksvlakte 2 harbour.

A report by Chosun said the terminal will have seven piers, a 1,900-metre long, 20-metre deep container terminal, and a 550-metre terminal for near-shore transport.

Its annual capacity will be four million once it opens in 2013. The consortium will operate the terminal for 25 years.
