Madagascar ICTSI terminal installs four one-over-five RTG stackers
POSTED: 9:56 a.m. EDT, July 16,2007

The Madagascar International Container Terminal Services Ltd (MICTSL) has installed four one-over-five 16-wheeler rubber tyred gantry (RTG) stackers at its new US$30 million Toamasina container terminal.

The cranes provide MICTSL, a subsidiary Manila-based ICTSI, container handling muscle to meet capacity requirements over the longer term, said a company statement.

The RTGs complement the recent addition of a heavy-duty Gottwald mobile crane with a twin-lift spreader, alongside two container handling mobiles. Each of the four new RTGs, made by Noell Crane Systems (China) Ltd, employs an electric trolley design, a "green" power train and has automated guidance systems for steering and container positioning.
