By the results of the first half of the current year Ventspils' turnover increased by 10% and totaled 16 092 thousand tons.

Compared to the last year same period result crude oil handling grew by 2.7 times (up to 1 214 thousand tons), oil products - by 3% (up to 8 391 thousand tons), mineral fertilizers - by 37% (up to 1 884 thousand tons). Raw sugar turnover increased by 6% (up to 152 thousand tons), grain - by 2.8 times (up to 266 thousand tons). There was handled 55 thousand tons of non-ferrous metal (it grew by 2.5 times), 80 thousand tons of containerized cargo (+18%). There was done 220 thousand tons of timber and logs (+13%), other wood cargo - 191 thousand tons (-24%). Coal handling volume was reduced by 4% (to 2 129 thousand tons), peat - by 22% (to 29 thousand tons), ro-ro - by 5% (to 879 thousand tons).

During the 6 months of the current year compared to the result of the last year same period container turnover of the port came up by 31% - up to 8 540 TEU.
