Tiger Airways, the Singapore-based low fare airline, will start services to India in October this year
The airline will initially operate flights from Singapore to Chennai and Kochi. From October 28, the airline will start operating to Chennai and from October 30 to Kochi.
To begin with, Tiger Airways will operate four flights a week to Chennai and three flights a week to Kochi.
Ticket sales for flights on both routes have started on the airline¡¯s Web site, www.tigerairways.com.
It is currently offering one-way fare of Rs 1,599 excluding taxes and other fees on both the Singapore-Chennai and Singapore-Kochi sectors.
According to Mr. Tony Davis, CEO, Tiger Airways, the airline is the only low fare airline to offer services across the whole of Asia, covering China, South East Asia, India and Australia. With the new flights to India, the airline will offer low-fare flights to 20 destinations in eight countries in the Asia-Pacific region, he added.
Tiger Airways had recently announced an order for 50 new Airbus A320 aircraft to augment its fleet.
