A device to spot unauthorised attempts to open or alter devices attached to containers and truck trailers is coming to market, according to a company statement.
The result of Dutch-Israeli co-operation, the device is a product of Netherlands-based ZOCA Container Security BV, which offers the new container security system known as GSM/SMS and its joint venture partner Amital Data Ltd, an Israeli provider of customised solutions for freight forwarders, customs brokers, importers, and exporters. Amital Data will represent ZOCA and market its device.
The system, apart from offering global positioning also detects unauthorised attempts to remove the device itself as it detects unauthorised attempts to open a container or a trailer it is monitoring. Having detected an intruder an alarm is raised and relayed to the company's security control room.
Ido Amitai, director general of Amital Data, said the ZOCA system was in the midst of a pilot project, after which it was expected to be sold to a supply chain company in need of such a device. |
