Safmarine CEO upgrades customer service with two key appointments

Safmarine Container Lines has appointed Jan Scheck its the new global sales and marketing executive while Rudi Labeau takes up the new position of global customer service and service delivery executive.
The appointments were announced by Safmarine CEO Ivan Heesom-Green who said the restructuring of Safmarine's sales and customer service division into two separate global portfolios reflected the company's new focus on improving service delivery and strengthening the Safmarine brand worldwide.
Both Mr Scheck and Mr Labeau are based in Safmarine's head office in Antwerp. Mr Scheck is a German raised in Belgium who previously held responsibility for Safmarine's Africa Region before assuming responsibility for commercial and operational activities of the AP Moller-Maersk Group in Sub-Saharan Africa. Mr Labeau was previously a liner executive and more recently focused on sales and customer service as a key account executive.
"While Safmarine's customer focus has contributed significantly to our past growth, we believe the current shipping environment requires a more dedicated approach - one that will differentiate Safmarine from its competitors and allow us to grow in partnership with our customers in the years ahead," said Mr Heesom-Green.
