Shipping lines participating in the Asia Australia Discussion Agreement (AADA) have announced that the bunker surcharge levied on shipments from China and Hong Kong bound for ports in Australia will be increased later this month to reflect the recent increase in the price of oil in Hong Kong and South Korea.
From May 11 the bunker surcharge level will be adjusted upwards to US$275 per TEU, while the surcharge per FEU will rise to $550 for dry and refrigerated containers, a statement issued on behalf of AADA members said.
AADA members are: ANL China Shipping Container Line (HK), Cosco Container Line, Hamburg Sud, Hanjin Shipping, HMM, "K" Line, Maersk Line, MSC, MOL, NYK Line, OOCL, and Gold Star Line (HK) (ZIM line).
