Maersk Line will upgrade its Asia-Europe network with the introduction of the new Europe-Far East service, and will restructure its Oceania-Americas service to enhance coverage of the North American markets.
Beginning with the first departure from Xingang (China) on May 28th, the new Europe-Far East (AE11) service will deploy seven 4,000 TEU vessels to meet increasing demand for more capacity.
The port rotation of the new AE11 service will be: Xingang (China) > Dalian (China) > Qingdao (China) > Shanghai (China) > Hongkong (China) > Malaga (Spain) > Algeciras (Spain) > Xiamen (China) > Xingang (China).
Maersk Line has also announced that it will restructure in Oceania-Americas (OC1) service, effective June 2007.
The restructured OC1 service will feature direct calls in Newark (New Jersey) and Miami (Florida), supplementing the current regular port calls in Philadelphia (Pennsylvania), Norfolk(Virginia) and Savannah (Georgia).
