Hactl April airfreight tonnage up 1pc as growth slows

Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited (Hactl) announced April tonnage was up 0.9 per cent to 212,368 tonnes, resulting in a January-through-April volume of 789,245 tonnes, up 0.3 per cent against the same period last year.

April export and import volume growth fell with exports showing a slight decrease of 0.3 per cent year on year in April, with a total of 120,553 tonnes. Aggregate export volume for the first four months was 435,157 tonnes, down 0.7 per cent compared with the same period last year. Import volume for April and for the first four months was 53,979 tonnes and 215,993 tonnes respectively, down 6.4 per cent and 1.6 per cent year-on-year for the respective periods.

The transshipment volume was 37,836 tonnes in April, with year-on-year growth of 18.8 per cent. Total transshipment volume for the first four months was 138,095 tonnes, up 7.1 per cent against the same period last year.
