Emirates Shipping Line turns to Inttra for e-commerce

FLEDGLING carrier, Emirates Shipping Line FZE, has become a member of the Inttra network, raising the total number of participating carriers to 23.

Inttra is the largest e-commerce platform for the ocean industry representing 63 per cent of sea freight capacity among the world's top carriers. INTTRA initiates more than 165,000 container orders each week and originates over US$11 billion worth of ocean freight.

"It is our mission to keep abreast of the needs of our customer base and provide our network with the highest standard of technological solutions. INTTRA provides us with the best solution in terms of data exchange with our ERP (enterprise resource planning) system," said Emirates chairman and CEO Vikas M Khan.

Inttra is supported by a cross section of the industry and has a long-term vision to support industry standards through a

form. . @FAXTEXT = Mr Khan says that a close partnership with Inttra should allow Emirates to offer customers solutions adapted to its network.

"Emirates Shipping Line gauged its options where customer satisfaction was concerned to see where we could optimise the results in our recent entry on the global stage. Inttra was the suitable solution provider," added Ranjit Narayan, Emirates vice president of Process Engineering.
