SeaFreight to increase bunker charges

SeaFreight Line said it will increase its bunker fuel surcharge, effective Nov. 4, in response to a continuing upward trend in fuel prices.
The charge applies to all public tariff and service contract rates for cargo moving between U.S. and Caribbean destinations of Aruba, Barbados, Bonaire, Curacao, Grand Cayman, Grenada, Guyana, Haiti, Jamaica, St. Lucia, St. Vincent, Suriname, Trinidad & Tobago, and Venezuela.
The surcharge will increase to $216 (from $168) for 20-foot equipment, $416 (from $320) for 40-footers, and $471 (from $363) for 45-foot equipment.
