THE US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), recently released their 2006 All-Cargo Data Ranking Report. Among the climbers was Chicago Rockford International airport (RFD) that jumped three places to 22nd in the cargo airport rankings.

“Over the last 10 years, our air cargo operation has experienced significant growth. The community has claimed a niche market opportunity for itself through RFD. The Airport Authority Board of Commissioners, the staff and previous airport directors deserve the lion’s share of the credit for their vision, courage and leadership to undertake the once unthinkable: an economically viable RFD,” said executive director Bob O’Brien.
