Malaysian shipper MISC eyes soft landing for rates

Malaysian shipper MISC Bhd, the world's largest owner of LNG tankers, expects a soft landing in shipping rates over the next few years, Chief Executive Shamsul Azhar Abbas said on Thursday. Shamsul was speaking to reporters at a ceremony to name MISC's new LNG tanker at its shipyard in southern Johor state. MISC is a unit of Malaysia's state oil and gas firm Petronas.
