Import Increases Container Turnover in Novorossiysk
POSTED: 10:18 a.m. EDT, October 24,2007

The increase of the container turnover in Novorossiysk occurs due to the import and increase of the cargo turnover with China. 60-65% of the import is intended for the South of Russia, about 20% is for Moscow and Moscow region and only 2-3% for the Urals.

Export increased by 1%. In this case the increase of the evacuation of the empty containers is presented. Thus, a serious misbalance of the goods traffic takes place.

20-25% of the outgoing traffic are loaded containers, the rest are empty ones. In general loaded export composes 10-12% of the overall container traffic.
