World Airways assigned cargo to UAE's Etihad Crystal Cargo

Georgia's World Airways has a deal Etihad Crystal Cargo, a unit of UAE-based Etihad Airways, to provide MD-11 freighter services over the next three years between Frankfurt, Shanghai and Mumbai.

Operating two A300-600RFs and regional aircraft, Etihad Crystal Cargo, the Middle East Airline founded in 2004, offers all-cargo services and has carried more than 130,000 tons of cargo in 2006.

World Air Holdings Inc, owners of World Airways and North American Airlines, was purchased in August by Global Aero Logistics Inc, parent company of ATA Airlines for US$315 million. Global's controlling shareholder is MatlinPatterson Global Opportunities Partners II.
