OOCL Logistics has started operations at its new 6,330-square metre warehouse at the Guangzhou Economic and Technology Development District (GETDD).
The new facility is the first OOCL Logistics owned and operated warehouse in the Pearl River Delta city. It provides domestic storage, distribution and export consolidation services,
Located in the eastern section of the GETDD and close to the Guang Shen Highway and National Road 107, the new warehouse is within easy reach of the Huangpu terminal.
The warehouse is equipped with 3,100 square-metres of floor storage, combined with a drive-in, single-selective pallet rack system for 4,800 pallet positions. The warehouse is connected to others operated by the company through a warehouse management system, providing inventory and operational data to customers on the internet.
"OOCL Logistics goes several steps beyond point-to-point transport," said Ming Tsang, director and general manager of OOCL Logistics (Hong Kong) Ltd.
"To ensure consistent service quality among our warehouses, our company approach is to have our own people operate the warehouse with standardised operation procedures, supported by advanced information systems."
