The Global Institute of Logistics has announced the launch of its Relationship Orientation Certificate Programme in Hong Kong.
It said the educational programme is a first in global logistics and it is aimed at providing companies with a competitive edge through relationship management.
Institute CEO Kieran Ring said: "The first intake workshops of the Institute's Relationship Orientation Certificate Programme will take place in Hong Kong towards the end of August and early in September."
This comes as the construction of a corporate culture, which reflects the collaborative dynamic has been the prime focus of the Institute for some time, following the seminal academic work done in this area by Sin et al and Panayides and So.
Global Institute council member and president Business Development Asia for Hellmann Worldwide Logistics, Paul Goldsbrough, said: "The main reason I accepted the role of chairman of the China Chapter of the Global Maritime Council was that I wanted to see these skills - so important to the industry - passed on."In a very short time, the Institute's Relationship Orientation Certificate will become a much-valued tool in the industry. Companies will want to have as many of their staff as possible hold the certificate as they seek best practice in relationship management, which will secure the future of our industry."
The Global Institute of Logistics was founded in 2001 by the members of the Global Logistics Forum under the chairmanship of the late Robert Delaney, a US logistics commentator and author. The institute actively fosters and promotes high levels of relationship orientation among logistics community stakeholders.
