POSTED: 8:40 a.m. EDT, June 15,2007
CKYH Alliance are reorganising the PNW South Loop and PNW North Loop which are jointly operated by Coscon and Hanjin.
They are creating a service that will deploy a total of nine 5,500-TEU ships, with four from Coscon and five from Hanjin starting in July.
The port rotation for the new PNW loop will be: Hong Kong, Yantian, Yokohama, Vancouver, Seattle, Yokohama, Shanghai, Busan, Seattle, Portland, Vancouver, Kwangyang, and back to Hong Kong.
This loop has two services: one is the PNW South Loop and the other is the PNW North Loop. The port rotation has been split between the PNW South Loop, which will call at: Hong Kong, Yantian, Yokohama, Vancouver, Seattle, Yokohama and Shanghai. The PNW North Loop will then continue on the port rotation, making stops at Shanghai, Busan, Seattle, Portland, Vancouver, Kwangyang, Hong Kong and Yantian.
Two voyages will be made weekly, departing from the Far East ports bound for the Pacific Northwest. Likewise, two weekly sailings will depart from the Pacific Northwest bound for ports in the Far East, a statement said.
Members of the CKYH Alliance said the service restructuring will improve the schedule integrity from North Asia to the US northwest coast. Transit time from Yantian to Vancouver is expected to be 12 days and 11 days from Shanghai to Seattle.
