China Southern makes push to boost Nepal service
POSTED: 10:22 a.m. EDT, May 28,2007
The mainland's largest carrier, China Southern Airlines, is launching a major advertising campaign to encourage Chinese tourism in Nepal.

The airline first began offering service to Nepal in February, connecting the capital of Kathmandu with Guangzhou twice a week on Mondays and Fridays.

No new flights to Nepal have been announced, but it is likely frequency will increase if the promotional campaign proves a success.

"More than 1,100 Chinese passengers flew China Southern on the Guangzhou-Kathmandu route over the past three months. The trend is encouraging, which is a clear testimony that there still lies a huge potential to be tapped," said Vincent Zhen, general manager of China Southern's Nepal office.
