Singapore's Changi Airport has followed a record breaking year for passenger numbers by announcing its first airport investment in China.
The Singapore operator is acquiring a strategic stake in Nanjing Lukou International, the largest airport in Jiangsu Province.
The investment will see RMB1.08 billion (USD$138 million) pumped into the Chinese airport, representing a 29 percent stake for Changi.
Last month Changi announced a record of 35.03 million passenger movements in 2006 and cargo figures also hit a new high at 1.91 million tonnes.
