CHINA Southern Airlines has been honoured for its "Outstanding Contribution to Society" at the recent forum for "Social Responsibility and Harmonious Society 2007".

The forum was organised by Xinhua News Agency and supported by a number of national leading media organisations including People's Daily, CCTV and China National Radio.

China Southern chairman Liu Shaoyong accepted the award and made a speech at the forum.

Included among its charitable works, the airline last year collected donations of CNY12 million (US$1.5 million) from employees following Typhoon Bilis in Guangdong.
