Kawasaki to build mega containership in China shipyard
POSTED: 8:43 a.m. EDT, October 16,2007

Kawasaki Heavy Industries is reported to be building super-sized containership which can carry up to 10,000 TEU in its joint venture shipyard with Cosco in China.

This kind of ship doubles the size of the largest ones that Kawasaki has ever made, said Xinhua.

The report said Kawasaki and Cosco will co-operate on enhancing shipbuilding capacity and techniques. Cosco and Kawasaki entered a joint venture eight years ago to establish the Nantong Cosco Shipyard in north China.
