Shanghai Shipping Exchange launches 24-hour portal

SHANGHAI Shipping Exchange (SSE) has opened a 24-hour internet portal to exchange shipping information, Xinhua News Agency reports.
Since the SSE was founded in November 1996, it has been involved in regulating the shipping industry, adjusting freight rates and facilitating the flow of information within China's shipping industry, the report said.
Xinhau added that two of the SSE's container tariff indices have become influential reference points for the world's ocean liner market.
