Dragonair takes delivery of 2nd converted freighter
POSTED: 3:31 p.m. EDT, February 4,2007

Hong Kong's Dragonair has taken delivery of the second of five 747-400 Boeing converted freighters, bringing to eight the total of all-cargo aircraft operated by the air carrier.

A Dragonair statement said the latest converted aircraft is due to enter service later this month.

"The arrival of the second freighter demonstrates our commitment to expanding our freighter fleet and allows us to continue to meet growing demand," said CEO Kenny Tang.

"Three more 747-400 Boeing converted freighters are scheduled to be added to our fleet before the end of 2008," he added.

Two of the three other converted freighters will be delivered this year while the other will come on line next year. Dragonair's first converted freighter was delivered in October and entered service in November.
