Japan and Australia have agreed a "historic" trade deal which will see taxes reduced on imports from each country.
The Japanese government will lower tax duties on Australian beef and raise the duty-free quota on cheese, which is Australia's largest dairy export to Japan.
In return, Australia will cut tariffs on the import of Japanese electronics, cars and white goods.
The deal is expected to be finalised later this year when Japanese Prime Minister, Shinzo Abe, travels to Australia.
Negotiations lasted seven years and Australian Prime Minister, Tony Abbott, described the deal as a "historic" one.
Mr Abbott said: "This is the first time that Japan has negotiated a comprehensive economic partnership agreement or free trade agreement with a major economy, particularly a major economy with a strong agricultural sector."
