An international trade and development group will host a conference in Phoenix later this month focused on trade, finance and supply chains in North and Latin America.
The Philadelphia-based Global Interdependence Center will host the Southwest Economic Summit at the Phoenix Convention Center on Feb. 24.
GIC Marketing Manager Amanda Lichtenstein expects 150 people at the Phoenix forum.
The event will feature chief economists from Wells Fargo Bank,Intel Corp. and Ford Motor Co. as well as officials from the Federal Reserve Bank and Banco de Mexico
Arizona economic development executives and elected officials such as U.S. Rep. Matt Salmon and mayors Greg Stanton of Phoenix andScott Smith of Mesa are also scheduled to attend.
Peter Gold, CEO of TheGoldGroup LLC, will also speak at the event. Gold has been a consultant toArizona State University's aerospace and research and development efforts. He's also a GIC board member.
Lichenstein said the event will focus on trade and economics in the Western Hemisphere. She said GIC puts on 14 to 18 international development events and forms each year.
Cost of the event ranges from $100 to $150 per person. Students can get in for $25.
