LIGHTNING RELEASES - LAKE FOREST, IL - February 7, 2014 - Neptun Light, Inc., a leading designer, developer, and manufacturer of lighting products, and its founder and inventor Andrzej Bobel announce their victory in a patent infringement lawsuit before the International Trade Commission (ITC).
Neptun and Mr. Bobel filed a complaint with the ITC alleging that Satco, MaxLite, and Litetronics imported compact fluorescent reflector lamps (PAR) that infringed U.S. Patent No. 7,053,540 and thus violated Section 337 of the U.S. Tariff Act.
On February 3, 2014 an ITC Administrative Law Judge agreed with Neptun and Mr. Bobel finding that Satco and MaxLite infringed claims 1, 2 and 11 of the '540 patent, Litetronics infringed claims 1, 2 and 10 of the '540 patent, that the domestic industry requirement had been satisfied, and that the '540 patent was held to be fully valid. The ITC Administrative Law Judge found that a violation of Section 337 had occurred.
"This is a great victory for us and for U.S. business," said Mr. Bobel. "We work very hard on our research and in bringing inventions to the market. We are proud of our ground breaking technology that we use in our products, and having that recognized by the ITC is very satisfying."
