British holidaymakers' love for Tenerife has made Thomsonfly the world¡¯s most popular airline to the Canary Island. Official statistics from ANEA (the Spanish state owned company that owns and manage all Spanish airports) covering the period November 2007 to March 2008 show that of the 2,389,603 visitors to the island during last winter, over 9%, or 209,645 holidaymakers, flew from UK airports with Thomsonfly, the largest proportion for any airline.

Outside air entering an aircraft cabin at altitude is essentially sterile and the airflow pattern and frequent air exchanges minimise the spread of infections, the report said. It adds: 'The risk of transmission of infection on board an aircraft is probably no greater than, and perhaps less than, other environments where large numbers of people are gathered together.'
