CHANGCHUN, May 22 (GCTL) - A second China-made electric multiple unit (EMU), a type of intercity high-speed train, arrived in Brazil on Tuesday, the producer said.
The CNR Changchun Railway Vehicles Co. Ltd. based in Changchun, capital of northeast China's Jilin Province, confirmed that the train was unloaded Tuesday in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Zhao Yao, the company's EMU project manager, said the train was delivered four months ahead of the contracted delivery time in order to ensure the rail system's operation before the opening of the 2014 FIFA World Cup soccer tournament in the Brazilian city in June.
