With a new logistics center close to Porto, DB Schenker is investing into the service quality in land transport and contract logistics in Portugal. The new terminal will centralize logistics operations in the northern part of the country, optimizing resources and organization.
The logistics center is located in Vila do Conde, an important industrial location, with direct access to the main highways, and only 14 kilometers from the main airport Francisco Sa Carneiro and 22 kilometers from the port of Leixoes.

Lieb, Chairman of the Board of Schenker AG, responsible also for Contract Logistics and Supply Chain Management. "The new facility will be an integral part of our dense global organization, also part of our unique pan-European network, offering our clients fast and secure connections to all important economic zones throughout the world."
The new terminal has a warehouse space of 12,000 square meters, with a total storage capacity of 14,000 pallet positions. 39 loading docks support the friction-free flow of goods. The terminal is to be TAPA FSR compliant, equipped with 175 CCTV cameras and with access control to all operational areas.
Logistics operations will be supported by a state-of-the-art Warehouse Management System which will allow DB Schenker in Portugal to offer more dedicated logistics solutions for the special needs of customers from vertical markets like Electronics, Automotive and Consumer Goods.
The terminal offers a modern working environment. Direct sunlight in every work area, a canteen, changing rooms, bathrooms for drivers, and a rest room will contribute to more employee satisfaction.
