The government has cleared seven infrastructure projects worth INR 16,057 crore that fall under the ministries of road and shipping.
The Public Private Partnership Approval Committee (PPPAC), chaired by Economic Affairs Secretary Arvind Mayaram, has cleared six projects of Ministry of Road, Transport and Highways and one of the Shipping Ministry.
The projects would have an estimated cost of INR 16,057.45 crore, an official statement said.
The projects approved in the road sector include widening and strengthening of Bikaner-Phalodi section of NH-15 in Rajasthan, Delhi-Meerut Expressway and other connecting roads in Delhi and Uttar Pradesh.
Four laning of Amritsar-Bhatinda section of NH-15 in Punjab, four laning of Sultanpur-Varanasi section of NH-56 in Uttar Pradesh was also cleared by the PPPAC.
The project approved in the port sector pertains to development of additional liquid bulk terminal at Jawaharlal Nehru Port (JNPT) in Maharashtra, the statement said.
