AUSTRALIA'S Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) has added Garuda Indonesia to its list of airlines that face prosecution for cargo price-fixing. The ACCC claims that Garuda entered into anti-competitive agreements with other airlines to fix airfreight surcharges between 2001 and 2006.
Garuda denies the allegations and has said that it will "vigorously defend" against them.
"Garuda Indonesia has never imposed a fuel surcharge on cargo shipped from Australia and indeed, has never charged shippers in Australia any form of fuel surcharge,'' a spokesman said. |
