Dubai Industrial City plans storage yard expansion

Dubai Industrial City plans to launch the second phase of its open storage yards in response to increased demand from companies in the construction, equipment and transportation sectors, reported TradeArabia.

The move comes as the entire 2.8 million sq ft of open storage yards that the leading industrial destination manages is currently utilised by UAE-based companies.

The industrial township is fast tracking Phase II which consists of a second open storage yard measuring more than 3.5 million sq ft.

Rashed Al Ansari, vice-president of Dubai Industrial City, said: "Five major clients have already leased the first phase, and the high level of interest has encouraged us to dedicate an even bigger second phase for open storage to meet the escalating demand. We plan to have the second phase operational within the next couple of months."
