Topics included, markets and competitive analysis, brand management, digital marketing, revenue management, understanding and analysing financial statements, creating financial reports, business ethics, and leading teams.
The workshop was the first commissioned and sponsored by TIACA in collaboration with Strategic Aviation Solutions International(SASI). The workshop follows a joint study by the International Air Transport Association, International Civil Aviation Organisation, and International Federation of Freight Forwarder Associations. Published earlier this year, it identified the need for airfreight-training to equip and educate a new generation of industry leaders.
"The objective was for participants to have a good appreciation of each field and how the topics fit together and play a role in successfully managing and leading a dynamic company in an ever-changing market," says SASI learning and development executive director, Lilian Tan. Participants were divided into four teams and given a case study.
They then had to give a formal presentation for their proposal, based on the case study, at the end of the day. The presentations were evaluated on their credibility, feasibility, financial impact, complexity and resources required.
