American Airlines Cargo announced the appointment of Andy Cornwell as Regional Cargo Sales Manager - Northern Europe. With immediate effect he is now responsible for sales and commercial activity for the airline across the UK, Ireland, Netherlands and Scandinavia and reports to Cargo Managing Director EMEA, Tristan Koch. Based at the carrier's London Heathrow Cargo terminal he will manage all UK sales as well as overseeing AA Cargo's GSAs across the region. "My aim is to refocus our activity to ensure we grow our revenues in addition to providing a consistent and superior service which firmly establishes us not only as a major player, but as the market leader from the UK," says Cornwell. Having started his airline career in 1991, Cornwell has wide experience of the industry having spent an initial two years in passenger services before moving across to concentrate on cargo where he has held positions in Customer Services, Business Development and Sales. Prior to his promotion he was AA Cargo's UK Sales Manager. "The breadth of Andy's experience will be vital in driving our business forward," says Tristan Koch. "His knowledge of the airline and how our business works will be invaluable as we work together to develop strategies to grow the take up of our extensive product range across the region as we await the arrival of AA's new wide-bodied aircraft". |
