Boeing's commercial airplanes unit reported that customers ordered five new 787 aircraft, while net orders for the 767 model were cut by five aircraft, in the week ended May 26, Dow Jones reported.
Both for the week and for the year to date, new orders and cancellations have netted out at zero.
Boeing didn't identify which airline customers were involved in the recent transactions.
Amid a worldwide recession, some airlines have deferred deliveries to later dates, but Boeing has said it has worked with other airlines to take those deliveries earlier. The airline industry may not be growing this year, but Boeing believes that demand will remain strong for new aircraft, which can save 20% on fuel costs compared with older planes. |
