Emirates has stressed that its finances remain strong and that it is not financially linked with Dubai World, which is struggling to fulfil debt obligations.
The airline is owned by the government of Dubai and last week announced the start of daily B777 flights to Amsterdam next May, which it said would complement its six weekly freighter flights to Europe's third largest cargo hub.
Emirates' ground handling subsidiary, Dnata, last week entered the UK market through the acquisition of two leading ground handling operations: Plane Handling, which provides cargo and ramp handling services at London Heathrow Airport and cargo handling services at Manchester Airport; and it will take over passenger and ramp handling operations at Terminals 3 & 4 at Heathrow from Aviance.
