Russia earmarks $1.5b to bail out aircraft corporation

Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin said the government has decided to earmark US$1.5 billion to bail out the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), Itar-Tass reported.

Deputy Prime Minister Sergei Ivanov specified UAC will receive $453 million for the production of civilian aircraft and $1.1 billion to repay debts, including $256 million to repay accrued interest.

"The UAC has received a new package of orders and has formed the package of contracts up to 2014," Ivanov said.
