Malaysia's First World Hotel at Genting Highlands has been recognized as the largest hotel in the world by Guinness World Records, local press reported Tuesday.
With 6,118 rooms, the hotel won the title previously held by MGM Grand Hotel and Casino at Las Vegas, Nevada, in the United States with 5,005 rooms.
Some 2.6 million guests checked in the hotel last year and three million guests are targeted for this year, said Resorts World Berhard's president and chief operating officer Lee Choong Yan.
Resorts World Berhard is operator of the First World Hotel. Together with five other hotels, the City of Entertainment in Genting now has over 10,000 rooms.
