Intel Corp., the world's largest computer chip maker, reported Tuesday its second-quarter net income rose 44 percent from the same period last year.
Helped by a slimmer workforce and solid microprocessor shipments, Intel's net income rose to 1.3 billion dollars, or 22 cents a share, up from 885 million dollars, or 15 cents a share in the send quarter last year, according to Intel's latest report reaching here.
For the three months ended June 30, sales rose 8 percent to 8.7billion dollars from a year ago.
