The formalities of an agreement between Structure-flex Limited of Melton Constable in Norfolk and Autosped, its partners in the Czech Republic, were completed on 6th November 2006 to form a new company, Structure-flex CZ sro.
Autosped, with a factory in Decin in the north of the country, was initially chosen for a joint venture initiative, with space in the Decin factory being allocated for the manufacture of Structure-flex commercial vehicle curtains and a round sling spinning operation. The relationship strengthened and output from Autosped has played a crucial role in the development of Structure-flex's business for the past five years. "The formation of Structure-flex CZ sro establishes the company as a true European player in the textiles market," enthuses Structure-flex Managing Director, Ian Doughty. "It follows a period of strong investment in the manufacturing capability of plants both here in Melton Constable and in Decin."
Structure-flex is the clear majority shareholder in the new company, which prompts Ian to comment: "Structure-flex CZ sro provides a secure trading platform for the company, which will guarantee long term cost effectiveness for the business as a whole, and a justification for continuing investment. It will give us real control over our supply chain in the face of relentless competitive pressures. I feel that this is an excellent outcome from what has in the past proved to be a very close business relationship with Autosped. Structure-flex, Czech employees and customers across the international market will reap significant benefits from the venture."
Structure-flex is one of the UK's most successful providers of bulk packaging solutions to the world's food, pharmaceutical, chemical and oil and gas industries, as well as a leading supplier of vehicle tension curtains and lifting products. |
