Sky¨s the limit for fastest growing aircraft market
POSTED: 10:34 a.m. EDT, January 29,2007

China is the world¨s fastest-growing airplane market. By 2025, it will be the world¨s second biggest civil airplane market exceeded only by the U.S.

Randy Baseler, Vice President of Marketing for Boeing Commercial Airplanes said there is a 7.4 percent average annual overall growth rate for China¨s markets and a 8.8 percent average annual growth rate for domestic travel in China.

As a result China¨s airline operators are going to spend $280 billion to purchase almost 2,900 new airplanes over the next 20 years.

With the rapidly expanding travel and cargo markets there, Boeing thinks the number of airplanes in China will more than triple to 3,900 in 2025.
