Two Chinese and U.S. aircraft companies will cooperate in producing 200 light helicopters annually since 2007, according to an agreement signed by the two firms on Sunday.
The Jiangxi Changhe Aviation Industry Co., Ltd will both produce parts and complete the assembling of 200 S300C and S300CBI helicopters for the U.S.-based Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation from next year, the agreement said.
The S300C and S300CBI types are two or three-seat piston helicopters widely used for training, patrol or scout.
The two firms began their first cooperation in 1995. Based in Jingdezhen City of east China''s Jiangxi Province, the Jiangxi Changhe Aviation Company has been producing parts for medium-sized S-92 helicopters for the U.S. company.
Sikorsky, based in Connecticut, is a world leader in the design and manufacture of advanced helicopters for commercial, industrial and military uses. Its revenues in 2005 reached 2.8 billion U.S. dollars. |
